Triumphant Entry

Scripture passages: Matthew 21:1-9
On Palm Sunday Jesus made His triumphant entry into the city. People were waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna"! There was great excitement in the air for what Jesus was coming to do... He was after all coming to deliver them from the Roman rule. How their attitudes had shifted in the week to come, when the one they expected to deliver them was beaten and almost lifeless. They wanted a deliverer, now they have nothing. "Give us Barabbas" was their cry, they had lost hope in the one called the Christ.

When Fishermen Don’t Fish

When fishermen don't fish they fight! This is the finding of Max Lucado in his book "Eye of the Storm." When we do not do what we were created to do we get time to focus on things that we should not worry about. When we do not spend our time about the business of the Kingdom, we have time on our hands to pick at those around us about everything.

We are all Missionaries

Scripture passages: II Corinthians 5:17-21
When we have placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to be a missionary. We all have a unique mission field that only we can reach. It cannot be left to the pastors and the church staff to do the evangelism, but we must all do our part. There are four important pieces to the evangelism puzzle. The first is we need to know that we are a Son of God. Next we must know the heart of God. Then we need to know the plan of God. And last we need to know the way of God.

Let’s get to Work

As we look at the topic of evangelism we need to look at our faith first. If we are not sure what God has done for us, how can we help others see the need for Jesus? We need to look at God's Word and work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Do not just accept Him and then sit on the sidelines, get in the game!

Five Pillars of a Healthy Church — Pillar Four: Ministry

As we look at the pillars of a healthy church we must look at the pillar of Ministry. Jesus modeled the servants heart and after washing the disciples feet he told them to do likewise. If we are to really grow in our love for God we need to be a servant. As we serve others the love of God shows through loud and clear!
