Five Pillars of a Healthy Church — Pillar Four: Ministry
Pastor Mark Russell • February 21, 2008 • February 3, 2008 @ 9:00am

Scripture passages: John 13:3-17

As we look at the pillars of a healthy church we must look at the pillar of Ministry. Jesus modeled the servants heart and after washing the disciples feet he told them to do likewise. If we are to really grow in our love for God we need to be a servant. As we serve others the love of God shows through loud and clear!

Five Pillars of a Healthy Church — Pillar Five: Evangelism
Pastor Mark Russell • February 21, 2008 • February 10, 2008 @ 9:00am

Scripture passages: Matthew 28:18-20

Today we will wrap up the last pillar of a healthy church. The pillar of evangelism is probably the most difficult pillar to get a good grasp of. The best way to develop a passion for evangelism and reaching the lost around us is to really look at our lives and what God saved us from. His Word says that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! He did not wait for us to get it right and change first. He accepted us as we were and then with the Holy Spirit in us, we are brought to change.

Five Pillars of a healthy Church — Pillar 3: Worship
Pastor Mark Russell • February 20, 2008 • January 27, 2008 @ 9:00am

Scripture passages: Psalm 95

As we continue to look at the five pillars of a healthy church, this week we look at Worship. In the church today we have so much confusion about what really is worship. Worship is not an event, music, performance, a feeling, confined to certain times. Worship is our response to God. As we learn to worship we need to adjust to the heavenly perspective of worship. It is about God, who God is and who we are in Him. It is about listening to God in the stillness and hearing His voice. For many this is so hard. Relax. Let go. Be still and know that He is God.

Five Pillars of a Healthy Church — Pillar Two: Discipleship
Pastor Mark Russell • February 20, 2008 • January 20, 2008 at 9:00am

Scripture passages: Luke 6:46-49

As we continue the series on the healthy church we look at the pillar of discipleship. we learn of the difference between being a Christian and being a disciple. We learn that being a disciple is an act of obedience. And we learn that from obedience we get the strong foundation of our faith. Remember the story in Luke about the two houses - one built on sand and one on rock. They looked the same from the outside, only external circumstances revealed the differences. What strengths or flaws will be revealed in you when the storms of life come?

Five Pillars of a Healthy Church — Pillar One: Fellowship
Pastor Mark Russell • February 20, 2008 • 01-13-08 @ 9:00am

Scripture passages: Ephesians 2:19-22

We are starting a series today on the five pillars that make up a healthy church. The first pillar we come to is the pillar of Fellowship. We see in Scripture the need for fellowship and that fellowship brings connectedness. Through connectedness we are able to meet the needs of others. For without fellowship we have a sense of emptiness.
