Ministry Focus
I want to thank you for your interest in Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. We are excited about the future of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and what God is doing in the lives of families and individuals. Let me share with you the vision God has laid on my heart.
It has been said that a church will reflect the heart and passion of its pastor. If that is the case, then Cornerstone Christian Felloswhip's emphasis will be as follows:
Learning to live like Jesus.
Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to you."
We need to be students of Jesus Christ. We need to seek Him and seek His righteousness. We need to model our lives, actions, and attitudes after Him. We do this through Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship.
Living out the Word of God.
1 Timothy4:7b "...discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness."
We are showing those around us everyday what Jesus Christ means to us. So we need to discipline ourselves to be godly. We need to intentionally live our lives in such a way that those around us see Jesus reflected in our lives.
Sharing the love of God with others.
Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
This means that we need to share our faith that we are living out in front of those in our sphere of influence. We need to intentionally share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers. Then, if God calls you to go, go into other parts of the world and share there too.
My philosophy of ministry is very simple. Every time you go to church you should:
-
Learn of God and His love
-
Be able to apply God's love and lessons to your daily life.
-
Feel love and acceptance from others.
-
Have fun!
It is my prayer that through the ministry of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, people will be equipped to live as Jesus Christ lived and to intentionally share with those in our sphere of influence. Together as a body of believers and in cooperation with other Christian Churches we can change the Fox River Valley for God.
In His Risen and Powerful Name,
Pastor Mark Russell
